My Approach

How Does This Work? 

With me on your side, you can keep the focus on your work and daily obligations and relax knowing someone is taking care of the stuff you don’t like or have time to do.

Over the course of a few conversations and email communications, I take you through my process for creating the message you desire. I ask insightful questions that guide you to clarity. I provide you with options that release the stress and pressure of having to figure it all out on your own and I keep you on track to providing me with the information I need to “put it all together.”


My Approach To Creating The Message You Desire:

1. Set a clear intention for the results you want.

2. Leverage who you are and what you bring to the table.

3. Demystify what you do into plain language.

4. Identify who you work best with and target them.

5. Attractively package & price your services.

6. Put it all together into compelling language that best represents you.

7. Get it out there.

My Marketing Philosophy:

1. Release perfection. Get your marketing content as good as you can based on what you know now and get it out there. You can tweak it later as you gain more information in the form of experience and feedback.

2. Content first, design last. Get clear what you stand for, what you’re about and how you’re going to deliver. Then get your design team to match that message.

3. Make it yang. (As in balancing the Yin and Yang). Understand that buying energy is yang, not yin. By adding language and design elements that are more yang (think grounding energy), the more likely you will be able to sell what you’re offering.

4. Use client lingo, not industry lingo. Keep it simple so anyone can understand what you’re offering by using plain language and a conversational tone.

5. Add lots of YOU. To stand out from a crowd you need to be willing to authentically share your personality, style, philosophy, quirks, favorite hobbies, lifestyle… all of these things and more serve to make what you do unique and personalizes your work.

6. Marketing is like a foreign language. You wouldn’t beat yourself up for not knowing how to speak Italian or German, would you? If you look at marketing proficiencies like learning a new language, you can be gentle with yourself for not being proficient right out of the gate. You can either start learning the language and give yourself some time, or hire a translator (someone like me!) to communicate on your behalf.

7. Marketing is your friend. Marketing will always be a part of you work, like it or not. Find a way to enjoy some aspect of it or it will show up in your work as un-professionalism.

8. Get outside feedback. It's hard to see your own strengths and clearly identify your message without outside, unbiased support. You simply can't see your own "stuff" when you're emotionally tied to your product, service, and programs.

When appropriate and if necessary, I will gently reflect back to you what actions, behaviors and thought processes I see you’re engaged in that affect your ability to move forward with the work you’ve hired me to do. This can be edgy, but it’s wildly empowering.

I’m an excellent program developer. I can put together a curriculum like no one can. I assist experienced professionals and schools who want to take off in a new direction, develop a program or fine-tune what they do in a compelling way.

I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t and I’ll save you time, energy and money by avoiding the mistakes myself and others have made in the past.

I specialize in writing in an informal, conversational style. I make a point to weave your tone, style and verbiage into my writing. Nothing I write sounds “sales-y” and so polished that you don’t come across like yourself.

I only work with health science experts and healing arts professionals. If you want to sound like Microsoft, I’m not for you. If you want to sound real, likeable, professional, and most importantly, hirable, then I’m your gal.

I’ve got a team of experts on my side. From web masters, designers, and editing staff… I only work with people that I’ve hired myself and have come to trust their work quality and ethics.

I’ve got tons of resources. When we’re done with our work, I can point you in the right direction in the form of resources, referrals and next steps.

I’m a marketing geek. I love this stuff. I find it a fun challenge to figure out how all the pieces of the puzzle (you and your experience in your field) fit together into a compelling marketing concept that draws new business in.
